…who’s back to stay????!???
Just because I wanted to do a “musical” cosplay, I decided to organize a Brütal Legend vs. Guitar Heroes group…
First, I wanted to make the KLF; then I saw Good Morning England for the second time, and then…
“Are you doing something dirty? Are you doing something your parents don’t know about? Are you breaking the law? Are you breaking the rules?”
…and that was it!
I definitely have to make the right jacket…
but what a band!!! (we were 11)
I’m doomed.
I feel fine about making this.
Quite excited, even.
I already got a spouse.
Because Corto Maltese.
Because I love the character since ever.
Because as soon as I started sewing, I tought of making Corto.
Because he is smart. Ad bad. And mean. And class. And classic. And charismatic. And witty. And womanizer. And a sailor.
Because when you love your character, some magic happens on photos, in cons, in the streets.
And no, it wasn’t because Corto is an icon now in France, it was because I love him and his universe, and everything.
One day, I went to see a friend cosplayer with my woolen hat, my gasses and a big coat…When she saw me at the door, she said OH MY GOD LEON! and she wen to the garde, grap a plant and told me to take a pose…
We posted the photos on the French cosplay forum, and the following day; a friend told me “Get the right plant and a Mathilda!”
and another one told me “Come home, I’ll teach you how to cut and work leather”
Next week, I went to the big fabric market in Paris, and I met a lady who told me “Oh, you make costumes too? Justlike my daughter:”
And Mathilda appeared…
Never won anything with that one, but it was great!!!!! I love those pictures…
a generalization of what i and most other artists experience constantly, it’s happened like 3 or 4 times in the past two days and wow had to get this out
I cannot lie, I’ve done this, and still find myself about to do it occasionally. Don’t everyone, it’s really awkward. Talk a bit, and if you find common ground, you’ll hit it off. If not, well, that’s okay. Can’t be friends with everyone.
More like how to approach anyone (online)…e-famous, or otherwise. I have to remember to keep myself calm all the time.
